Peter Oyler's RAAM for

Since the beginning I have been a strong supporter of From day one, when the idea for a ride for Jack was discussed, I was in full support of the idea and have been to every ride since.

The last 10 years have flown by and discussions about mental health are also flying!! Talking to others about the fact that at points along the way I have had my ups and downs has helped me keep pressing forward. I have been able to listen to others talk, been able to get others out on the bike to work through their feelings in the open air where they feel at home and that they can talk as well.

I am asking for your support for my fourth and final Race Across America (RAAM) to define the limits of human endurance and most importantly raise awareness and funds for youth mental health in Canada.

Race Across America is a non-stop cycling race from San Diego County to Annapolis, Maryland. At over 3,000 miles, it is about 30% longer than the Tour de France, but must be completed in half the time. To finish within the twelve-day time limit, racers must pedal as many as 20 plus hours a day, endure temperatures from zero to 46 degrees centigrade, and climb 170,000 vertical feet. That’s six times the height of Mount Everest.

Finishing the beast is one monumental challenge and it takes a village to get one man or women to the finish.  RAAM is physical but RAAM is mental. It takes everything one has. It takes a full team commitment that I have always had and am so grateful for.

The one thing that excites me about RAAM is again going to the start line of something really really big! The challenge is huge and I feel honoured to represent our country and in such an event.

It would mean the world to me if you would support my efforts with a donation to, a network of thousands of young people revolutionizing mental health in Canada.

With love,

Donations of $15 or more to will automatically receive an electronic tax receipt.
